CSF(Cerebrospinal fluid) is present in ventricles of brain,subarachnoid space of brain and spinal cord.CSF is formed by anterior choroid plexus and posterior choroid plexus.CSF is clear lymph like alkaline fluid.It consists of 99.13% water.and solids 0.87%.It contains both organic and inorganic substances.It contains protein albumin and globulin,aminoacids,sugar,cholesterol,urea,uric acid,creatinine,lactic acid.Inorganic substances includes sodium,calcium,potassium,magnesium,chlorides,phosphate,bicarbonates,sulphates.Lymphocytes in CSF is 6/cu mm

Properties of CSF are Volume is approximately 150mL .Rate of formation is approximately 0.3mL/min,specific gravity is 1.005.Reaction is alkaline.
