Biology:

Explain how the endocrine glands work in conjunction with other systems to maintain homeostasis, and predict possible conditions that would occur if it does not happen.

Answer #1

ANSWER :

Homeostasis is a specific function in the animals, in which physiological functions of body organs resist to change according to the environment and it controlled via integration of endocrine and nervous system (neuroendocrine). Homeostasis is maintained via released hormones under the control of ANS (autonomic nervous system) of brain but hypothalamus is also responsible this since, it controls some important physiology actions like temperature and hunger etc.

Hence, if any from both the systems gets affected, either decreased hormonal activity or nervous control can severely affect this process.

In a post of at least 300 words, respond to the following: Compare the pathway for synthesis and delivery of anterior vs posterior pituitary hormones. Discuss the conduits that deliver these hormones to their targets. Trace the pathways by which hormones will take to reach all bodily tissues (i.e., head, fingers, toes, viscera). Predict possible medical conditions that can arise if the endocrine and cardiovascular systems fail to work with each other to maintain homeostasis. Discuss possible anatomical and physiological...

1. An otherwise normal adult XY-man begins lactating. Explain circumstances that could cause this. What would have to happen in order for this to occur? Particularly consider the endocrine system role, but also the anatomy involved 2. Suggest a single, specific malfunction in the immune system that would affect at least three other systems. For each system, explain how it would be affected and what that system would do to bring the body back to homeostasis. (Note: an infection is...

Explain the transport cycle of the sodium-potassium ATPase. How does it contribute to the resting membrane potential of a neuron? What would happen to the concentration of sodium and potassium inside and outside of the cell if you inhibited sodium-potassium ATPase transport with a drug? Would it be possible for an action potential to occur if the sodium-potassium ATPase were inhibited? Why or why not?

Consider a single murine hepatocyte at homeostasis with its surrounding environment, which includes other neighboring hepatocytes and extra-hepatic tissues. Due to changes in the organism’s activity, this hepatocyte receives signals that trigger the need to synthesize exactly 20 copies of a protein required for altered amino acid metabolism. PLEASE GIVE EXPLANATIONS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. THANK YOU! 1. How many equivalents of ATP are required to synthesize these 20 protein molecules? 2.
