Most filtrate is reabsorbed into glomerular capillaries
True or False?
ANSWER IS FALSE.
EXPLANATION- most of the filtrate is reabsorbed in the proximal convoluted tubule of the nephron. the glomerulus capillaries are the network of capillaries in the bowmans capsule which filter the blood and absorbes all the waste materials and some ions and water that are needed to be excreted as to maintain normal osmolarity. Glomerular capillaries are the ones who produce the filtrate and when this filtrate is passed through the tubules of the nephron, the reabsorption takes place. (the capillaries which reabsorb from the PCT are called the peritubular capillaries)
almost 45 gallons of filtrate is produced everyday in adult humans but almost 99% of it is reabsorbed back into the blood stream.
