Homework Answers

Answer #1

Heat loss in humans occur through various mechanisms

1.Radiation : Transfer of heat to surrounding environment.

2.Conduction :Transfer of heat when in physical contact with another object.

3.Convection : Process of losing heat by movement of air molecules over skin surface.

4.Evaporation or perspiration

Water has a high heating capacity or specific heat such that it can absorb a lot of heat before it's temperature rises and allows for easy absorption and transfer of heat.
