Answer #1

Following statements are true or false:

(a) The gluteus maximus is concentrically contracting?

False - The gluteus maximus is not concentrically contracting it is eccentrically contracting which control the desent of the body.

(b) The rectus femoris is in a maximally shortened position?

False - The rectus femoris is slackened across the hip and it is stretched across the knee .

(c) The iliopsoas muscle is eccentrically active?

False - The iliopsoas are inactive during eccentrical motion. The flexion of the hips is produced by the gravity. The muscle is located anteriorly.

(d) The hamstring muscles are in a near maximally shortened position?

False - The hamstring muscles are slackened across the knee and they are elongated across the hip.
