MELANOCYTES: Melanocytes are specialsed epithelial cells that produce Melanin.Melanin is the pigment that gives skin and hair its particular colour.Melanocytes are spider-shaped cells whose branches reach to the keratinocytes in Stratum basale.The Melanin produced in the Melanocytes is passed through these branches to the Keratinocytes as inclusions and it is where melanin is deposited.Melanin serves to protect cells from the harmful effects of UV Radiation.

KERATINOCYTES: Kerationcytes are the cells that produce Keratin and melanin is deposited as inclusions.keratin is a fibrous protein that gives skin the majority of its protective properties and they are tightly connected to each other.
