it is fluid filled sac found in ovaries that contains an immature egg. The function of ovarian follicle is to secrete hormones that plays an essential role in the stages of the menstrual cycle.

Which of the following hormones stimulates the growth of an ovarian follicle?

FSH and LH- follicle stimulating hormone and Luteinizing Hormone stimulates the growth of ovarian follicle. They are secreted by the anterior pituatary gland. FSH stimulates follicles cells to secrete estrogen to promote ovum maturation where LH directs the follicle to become corpus luteum and secrete progesterone.
