When the patient came to clinic with fracture talus with severely restricted dorsiflexion need to be assessed as follow:-.

When assessing the ankle dorsiflexion range of motion both weight bearing and non weight bearing techniques are used.

Weight bearing lunge test(WBLT) is technique used to assess the ankle dorsiflexion ROM.

In this test patient is asked to stand near wall.

Knee and ankle of affected leg should to be touch wall.

Ask the patient to squant slightly.

One more technique is star excursion balance test
