Kidney stones or renal colic causes intense pain in the flank region. It occurs due to accumulation of crystals in urine such as calcium, oxalate and uric acid. These kidney stones sometime adhere to renal papilla and obstruct the urine flow. These obstructions cause increases the pressure around and results into painful swellings in surrounding tissue .This pain travels to the lower back regions as urine travels through kidney to urethra.Due to obstructed kidney with calcified stones causes bleeding and infections as well results into lower back pain, abnormal response and weakness.
