At the most relaxed point of ventricular diastole (lowest intraventricular pressure), __________________ valve(s) are open and __________________ valve(s) are closed.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

It is a part of cardiac cycle,has 4 phases artrial systole,Atrial diastole,ventricular systole,ventricular diastole.

Mitral and tricuspid valves(Atrioventricular) are open which promote flow of blood from atria to ventricles. At early stage, atrioventricular remains open.Semilunar valves and pulmonary and aortic valves are closed

But during the late stage, atrioventricular valves are also closed, hence the volume in ventricles doesnot change, leading to isovolumetric condition

Animal Physiology Question 1. Beginning with all chambers of the heart in the "relaxed" phase, describe the cardiac cycle in mammals, with systole and diastole of the atria and ventricles. For each time point in the cycle you select, state the following: • Whether the atria and ventricles are contracting or relaxing. • Whether the AV valves and semilunar valves are closed or open • Whether the pressure in the atria and ventricles is high or low

Select the MOST CORRECT answer. During the cardiac cycle... Blood flows from the right atrium, through the AV valve, and is pumped by the right ventricle into the pulmonary artery. The ventricular diastole occurs at the same time as atrial systole and atrial diastole. The second heart sound (S2, or dup) occurs just as the left ventricle reaches its highest pressure, which exceeds aortic pressure. Both a) and b) are correct and c) is incorrect. a), b) and c) are...
