In the Lathe of Heaven novel, George Orr used to dream and this dream transformed to a reality in his life. Because of this unique unprecedented behaviour, he used to take lot of medicines to stay awake. It had lot of side effects. He decided to meet Dr. Haber and Dr. Haber tries to experiment on George. He tells George to solve racism, reduce population and create peace and love on earth. While doing so, Mt. Hood a silent volcanic mountain becomes active and expelled volcano. This catastrophic effect was very bad and Dr. Haber at this moment realized that some dreams should not be dreamt and one must not control the emotions of others.

From the medical perspective, this novel suggests that dream should not be controlled and it must not stay in our memory after our sleep. It also suggests that we must try to dream good and this will strongly empower us.
