Ans. Oxidants are free radicals present in the environment and in our body also. Antioxidants are substances that prevent the harmful effects and damage caused by these free radicals or oxidants. Nutrient antioxidants include vitamins such as A, C, E and catechins.

Phytochemicals are plant-based naturally occurring compounds. Examples include anthocyanins ( found in cherry, orange, red grapes), Apigenin ( found in apple, nuts and grapes), Catechins ( found in tea), Curcumin ( found in turmeric), Ellagic acids. ( grapes, walnuts) etc.
