Salivary glands are in control of autonomic nervous
system (ANS). Which is comprised of sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve
fibres.
Parasympathetic
causes saliva secreation.
Parasympathetic stimulation, acetylcholine is a active
neurotransmitter and it will bind with receptors in the gkands,
which leads to the increase in salivation.
INHIBITION OF SALIVA SECREATION
Inhibition of salivary secreation is carried out by
Sympathetic nervous
system.
