There are, however, plenty of conspiracy theory out there stating that a cure is available but being kept under wraps because of the greedy pharmaceutical companies. I would like you to consider this (and other theories you might be aware of) and research it a bit more. What are your thoughts on so-called conspiracy theories? Is there any foundation for them?

Most of the times, conspiracy theories are rumors. They do not have a solid base.
For example, it has been rumored that there is a cure for AIDS but scientists are not revealing for the sake that people will go berserk once it is made available.
The drug is also useful for adults who were infected from their parents or unknowing during blood transfusions as well.
So, scientists would be humane in such scenarios and release the drug into the market for the greater good than being greedy.

There are several scientists such as Jonas Salk who did not take a patent for their research and worked on humane values.
