A muscle fiber that is being stimulated so rapidly that relaxation of the muscle cannot occur would be exhibiting?

A) Complete (fused) tetanus

B) Summation

C) A muscle twitch

D) Incomplete (unfused) tetanus

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer ; A) complete fused tetanus.

Reason ; When a muscle fiber got stimulated, there will be a succesive contraction occurs over there and the rate and the frequency of the contraction depend upon the intesity of the situmulation. In the given statement, the muscle fiber had be stimulated rapidly and the contraction is taking place in the muscle without any relaxation, So in twitches we can see the rexaltion phase, and in the summation there will be arelaxtion after some point of intesntive contraction, even in the unfused tetanus, there will be a slight relaxation occurs during the contraction phase, but in the above mentioned tetanus there will be no relaxation occurs in any means. Therefore the given statement explains the above mentioned condition and the other condition listed in the options are not relavent.
