An athlete is going to be competing in a marathon. She has come to you to ask about how her energy systems will be utilized during the marathon. Provide her with an overview of how her body will use the energy from the ATP-PCr system, anaerobic glycolysis, aerobic glycolysis, and beta oxidation and how it will transition from each energy system throughout the race.
Energy utilisation system
Explaining to the athlete
At the initial stage of running you body will utilize the creatine phosphate in body to make energy. For the initial 1-3 seconds . This is the ATO - PCr system.
Then after this step for almost 2 minutes our body will switch to glycolytic system that is anerobic. In this energy is made in the absence of oxygen and will cause glucos utilisation without oxygen .
After this body will use up the carbohydrates and protein present in body in presence of oxygen that is the glycolytic aerobic process. This provides energy for almost 10 mnitey.
After a long run body become exhaust of residual glucose and carbohydrates so body switch to beta oxidation method in which cystole is formed from breaking the fatty acids that result in formation of acetyl co A . This will enter ciric acid cycle and produce Energy
