Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans

Motion of hand and wrist is powered by tendon which connect muscle to bone. Tendon of wrist include flexor tendon which run through carpal tunnel and allow fingers and thumb to curl and tendon on backside of hand allow fingers to strengthen. In addition There are several other tendon which enable wrist motion:

Flexor carpi radialis and flexor carpi ulnaris: bend wrist inward

Extensor carpi radialis brevis and extensor carpi radialis longus: strengthen the wrist and bend It towards the thumb

Extensor carpi ulnaris: strengthen the wrist and bend It towards pinky finger

Beside these thumb consist of tendon of its own which allow its movement independently without fingers.

# Due to damage of tendon flexibility is being lost. He could not flex his wrist up and down and turn it over and back. He will not able to open or close his hand and bend and straighten his fingers.
