The main objective of Rockport walking test is to evaluate cardiovascular fitnesss of a person. This test measures the maximum amount of oxygen utilized while performing intense exercise.

Limitations

  • The test is very easy for fit person.
  • The precision of the test is dependent on pacing ability of an individual.
  • The performance can vary from day to day.

2. The palpitation of heart may arise as a result of intense exercise, dehydration, illness and caffeine.

While determining heart rate, following concerns must be considered

  • Proper technique has to be followed to assess heart rate.
  • Pulse must be measured from proper area.

In case if the person is unconsciousness, have chest pain, and unusual sweating, necessary steps must be taken to recover from it.
