The development of foetus occurs in different stages by the process of special kind of Cell division also known as cleavage .

The first stage is morula a solid ball like structure mass of 16 celss which eventually develops into blastula and forms a cavity which is known as blastocoel this blastula forms a outer layer known as trophoectoderm and inner cell mass which converts in gastrula this is the stage when the different layers are formed which is known as germ layers ( ectoderm, mesoderm,endoderm) .

After this neurala is formed which leads to. The formation of brain and spinal cord and slow the number of cells increases which finally forms a developed foetus
