  1. Urea is nitrogenous waste product produced during protein metabolism. It is produced in the liver.

  2. The three main ions ions secreted in to the renal tubule are : H+ (hydrogen ions) , K+ (potassium ions) and HCO3- (bicarbonate ions).

  3. - Filtrate in renal tubule has components similar to blood plasma except plasma proteins. Urine only contains water, nitrogenous wastes, ions, drugs and hormones.
    - About 180 liters of filtrate is formed in a day from which only 1.5 to 2 liters is converted to urine.
    - Concentration of filtrate changes in different sections of renal tubule while concentration of urine drained in renal pelvis remains same in entire urinary tract.
