explain why trauma to the brain stem is often much more dangerous than trauma than the frontal lobes

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer:- there are a lot of important structures present in the brainstem which controls the involuntary functions of the body like respiratory center, vasomotor center etc. In addition, all concentrated neurons are moving down into the body from higher up connections through this area. Any injury to brainstem will cause loss of involuntary function control which is fatal for the body.

While the frontal lobes are not directly involved in regulating the body the way the brainstem of it is. Injury to frontal lobes may cause trouble in impulsive behaviour but they are not fatal.

Thus injury or trauma to brainstem is much more dangerous than injury to frontal lobes of the brain.
