Reflexes involve input from a sensory receptor and output from a motor neuron to create the response. True or false?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Reflexes involve input from a sensory receptor and output from a motor neuron to create the response. True or false?

The correct option is “True”.

The path for reflexes (reflex pathway or the reflex arc) starts from the sensory receptor moving to the sensory neuron, next to the spinal cord which has interneurons. It further moves on the path to the motor neuron and to the effectors. Thus completing the reflex and creating a response.

1. When an action potential reaches the T-tubule, it will activate the dihydropyridine receptor at the T-tubule to change conformational shape. Dihydropyridine receptor will trigger ryanodine receptor channel to secrete Ca2+ from the sarcoplasmic reticulum into the cytosol. When action potential is absent, Ca2+ ATPase at the sarcoplasmic reticulum will pump cytosolic Ca2+ into the sarcoplasmic reticulum. Select one: a. True b. False 2. What is TRUE about the myofibril?
