explain the primary way that a high pitch sound is distinguished from a low pitch

Answer #1

Ans- Pitch is used to determine how high or low the sound is. It is primarily determined by how rapidly the object producing the sound waves is vibrating i.e. frequency of the vibration of the waves. If the frequency of vibration is higher, we say that sound is shrill and has high pitch. On the other hand, the sound is said to have lower pitch, if it has lower frequency of vibration. Example- a bird produces a high pitched sound while roaring of lion produced low pitched sound. Voice of woman has high pitch than taht of man.

It is easier to hear low pitch or low frequency sound because the audible band of sound is much closer to low. High frequency sounds extends far beyond that.
