Why is glycolysis
referred to as anaerobic while the remaining four pathways are
aerobic?
* Aerobic pathway :- The sequence of steps that use oxygen during the pathway. * Anerobic pathway:- The sequence of steps that takes place in the absence of oxygen during the pathway.
* Glycolysis is a anerobic pathway which doesn't need oxygen during the breakdown of glucose to pyruvate molecules. It is a 10 step process in which the oxygen is not used during the pathway. There are other pathways which uses oxygen during the process are called as aerobic pathways.
