The unmyelinated fiber is those which are not covered or does not have a myelin sheath and hence without the myelin sheath, the speed of transmission of information as well as the conductance is provided by other factors. In case of the unmyelinated nerve fibers, the speed of conductance increases because the action potential tends to move and travel in form of continuous wave. As the nerve impulse is propagated along the nerve fiber continuously without any stop, it helps in increasing the speed of conductance. The nerve impulse conduction in unmyelinated nerve fibre is slower as compared to myelinated nerve fiber but it can be increased by a continuous action potential through the nerve.
