Were learning how to calculate "Mean Arterial Pressure". the equation is:
MAP=diastolic blood pressure + 1/3( pulse pressure) or just
MAP=DBP+ 1/3(PP)

If the MAP is 93 and the systolic BP is120. How would I calculate diastolic blood pressure and pulse pressure?

please show all steps im really confused. Thank you for your help.

Answer #1

simple method to find the diastolic pressure is

systolic pressure (high ) -diastolic pressure(low) = pulse pressure

Usual range of the systolic and diastolic pressure is 120/80 mm/hg

here is the formula for the calculte the diastolic pressure is MAP =

SYSTOLIC PRESSURE +2 (DIASTOLIC PRESSURE) /3

Map is 93.3

Systolic pressure is 120

Then

93.3 =120+2(dbp) /3

93.3×3 =120+2(dbp)

279.9-120=2(dbp)

159.9=2(dbp)

diastolic pressure is 79.95

as above methioned the sbp - dbp = pp

120 -79.95 = 40.5

Hi, were learning how to calculate blood flow to different organs by using "ml/100g/min". In our example question is says if a organ weighs 200g and the total blood flow is 400ml/min then the answer would be 200ml/100g/min. How to do I set this calculation up? I'm really confused! Please show step by step please. Thank you

Research Scenario Hypertension is defined as a systolic blood pressure (SBP) of 140 mmHg or more, or a diastolic blood pressure (DBP) of 90 mmHg or more. Diastolic blood pressure (DBP) measurements from the general population form a normal distribution with m = 82 mmHg and s = 10 mmHg. Epidemiological studies have shown that obesity increases the risk of hypertension (high DBP). Using data from a cohort study, a researcher obtained a sample of n = 144 obese persons...
