Smooth muscles are involuntary non-striated muscle these muscle have both thick and thin filaments but it is not arranged as a unit sarcomeres .actin and myosin are the proteins which perform muscle contraction.smooth muscles have great elastic properties striated muscles.This feature help the bronchiolar smooth muscles to dialete and relax when air passes .

Vascular smooth muscles arise from multiple origins , they are also called mural cells .they rap around larger vessels and are heavily relied upon regulation of blood flow and stability. The function of smooth muscles in each body systems is diverse for example: In respiratory system it's function is to regulate the diameter of bronchiolar but in the vascular system it's main function is to regulate the blood pressure and flow.
