Answer #1

Please find answer below.

hypothalamic pituitary thyroid axis is negative feedback control loop which helps for the regulation of metabolism in human body . Thyroid gland secretes hormones thyroxine and triiodothyronine . hypothalamus secretes thyrotropin-releasing hormone . Anterior pituitary secretes thyroid-stimulating hormone . The interaction between this hormones is the hypothalamic pituitary thyroid axis .When the level thyroid hormone reduces in the blood ,hypothalamus sense it and respond by producing thyrotropin releasing hormone . This hormone has stimulatory effect on anterior pituitary which leads to production of thyroid stimulating hormone .This hormone act on the thyroid gland to produce more thyroid hormone till the level when blood returns to normal .It’s an important pathway of direct neuro endocrine function .

What levels of hormone production would you expect at each tier of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Thyroid (HPT) axis if a person has a functioning pituitary tumor? A. low levels of thyroid stimulating hormone from the anterior pituitary, high levels of thyroid hormone from the thyroid, and low levels of thyrotropin-releasing hormone from the hypothalamus. Description The Hypothalamic-Pituitary Axis is responsible for a wide variety of normal physiologic functions. It is essential to have a firm understanding of how the normal feedback loop works in order to understand alterations involving the Hypothalamic-Pituitary Axis. The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate understanding of the normal feedback regulation of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary Axis and recognition of alterations in normal regulation. Instructions Compose a short (1 – 4 pages) essay explaining the role of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary axis and...

The hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis includes corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) from the hypothalamus, adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) from the pituitary, and cortisol from the adrenal gland. In this system, CRH stimulates the release of ACTH, which stimulates the release of cortisol that exerts a negative feedback effect on both CRH and ACTH. Until only recently, there was no good tool to measure serum ACTH. Therefore, to evaluate whether pathologically high cortisol was related to ACTH, the “Dexamethasone suppression test” was invented. The elements...

Draw the hypothalamic-hypophyseal pathways that regulate the release of thyroid hormone, cortisol, testosterone, prolactin, and growth hormone. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) is synthesized in the hypothalamus and transported to the anterior pituitary. How does GnRH reach the anterior pituitary? Group of answer choices It is transported directly to the anterior pituitary by axons of the hypothalamic-hypophyseal tract. it is transported by axons to the posterior pituitary and diffuses from there into the anterior pituitary. It is released into the blood and travels through the systemic circulation before reaching the anterior pituitary. It is secreted into the hypophyseal portal...
