They act on postsynaptic membrane receptors.

There is increase in positive ion influx inside post SYNAPTIC membrane .

Theses are Ligand gated and Voltage gated.Na + and K + channels .

Chemical gated channels are open when chemical neurotransmitters bound to it .ex ACH .

Mechanical gated Channels open by mechanical vibration ,pressure ,sound touch .

Leak channels not involve in EPSP
