Why can't the body's O2 supply meet the body's O2 demands during the first few minutes of aerobic exercise?
Answer: Aerobic exercise demands immediate energy. Oxygen is the main source of energy. For the initial few seconds this demand can be fulfilled by the Oxygen, but further demand cannot be fulfilled by Oxygen and body relies upon the stored energy (Glycogen). Conversion of this stored glycogen to energy (ATP) requires a few minutes. This is the reason that body's Oxygen supply could not meet the body's oxygen demand in first few minutes of aerobic exercise.
