B. low tissue O2
C .High tissue CO2

E.low (acidic)PH
F.high(basic)PH a

Answer #1

Autoregulation of blood flow is the intrinsic mechanism of flow of blood regulated by local factors to maintain a constant level of tissue perfusion.
The blood flow to an organ rises when the oxygen in tissues reduces. Increased amount of CO2 produced due to vstious metabolic processes also results in increased blood flow to the area.
Various cell activities produces metabolic acids and CO2 which reduces the ph. This also stimulates blood flow to remove these metabolites.
Answer : B. low tissue O2 ; C .High tissue CO2 ; E. low (acidic) ph

The flow rate (F) of blood through a blood vessel describes the volume of blood that passes through the vessel per a unit of time. Flow rate is affected by physical variables like the resistance of the blood vessel (R) and the pressure gradient within the blood vessel (∆P). Which one of the following statements correctly summarizes the relationships between these variables? *Hint: F = ∆P/R Select one: a) Flow rate is equivalent to the pressure gradient multiplied by the...

1. Assume your blood has a pH of 7.4 and you have been producing urine with a pH of 7.4 for a while. You drive to very high altitude (ca. 4,000 m) and spend several hours there. Your alveolar ventilation rate increases (as expected), and eventually this causes your blood pH to rise above 7.4 (your blood plasma becomes more basic than normal). \newline This change in blood pH will initiate compensatory homeostatic mechanisms in your kidneys ("renal compensation") that...
