If someone had a tumor that secreted too much aldosterone, which of the following would increase?

Select one or more:

a. Plasma potassium

b. End systolic volume

c. End diastolic volume

d. Plasma glucose

e. Heart rate

Homework Answers

Answer #1

If too much aldosterone is present I blood then their will be increase in option b,c and d

Option a is wrong because as aldosterone excretes pottasium from body the body will lack pottasium when aldosterone level increase

Option b is correct because end diastolic volume will increase as the end systolic volume is also increase due to the excess fluid retention as well as vasoconstriction

Option ç is correct because end systolic volume will increase due to increase in the fluid level and increased afterload

Option d is correct as the plasma blood glucose will increase when aldosterone increases

Option e is wrong as heart will not increase as there is increase in fluid volume and High bp , so with agin increase in heart rate again increase in BP will occur .so body controls it
