ABO blood grouping has 2 surface antigens( antigen A and antigen B) and respective antibodies against these antigens ( anti-A and anti-B).

There are four possible blood group in ABO system-

1. A blood group- has antigen A and anti-B antibody.

2. B blood group- has antigen B and anti-A antibody.

3. AB blood group- has both A and B antigen but no antibody.

4. O blood group- has no antigen but has both anti-A and anti-B antibody.

Rh blood grouping on the other hand has two group possible.

1. Rh postive group- in which Rh antigen is present.

2. Rh negative group- in which Rh antigen is not present
