Question

What is the significance of the R-T interval? Does this represent systole or diastole, and why? Explain, using the position of each of the four valves of the heart.

Answer #1

R-T interval is the interval between onset of R wave till end of T wave.

Significance of R-T interval- it represents the events taking place in ventricles. The QRS complex present in R-T interval represent the ventricular depolarization whereas T wave represent ventricular repolarization.

Thus it involve both systole and diastole because ventricular contraction represent systole (depolarization) and ventricular relaxation represent diastole ( repolarization)

During ventricular systole, bicuspid and tricuspid valve are closed and semilunar valves are open

And during ventricular diastole, semilunar valves are closed but bicuspid and tricuspid valve are open

Does the non-archimedean field R(t) satisfy the
Nested Interval Property? Explain.
Note that R(t) elements are rational functions
in the variable t with coefficients in R. We take the ratio of
polynomials to create the elements.

And
Both r1(t) = < t2,

3. Mean
a) Many people already know how to find the mean (average) of
a sample of data by "adding all the numbers and dividing by the

In terms of the following formula (MAP=CO x R), what do
systolic and diastolic pressures represent?
Systolic:
Diastolic:
What is the reason for this?
a)No, because one measures pressure in the ventricles and the
other the resistance in the capillaries.
b)Yes, because they are both measures of pressure in arterial
blood vessels.
c)No, because systolic and diastolic values represent very
different physiological processes.
d)Yes, because you are using the same cuff to measure both
pressures.
e)No, because systolic measures the...
