The photosynthesis reaction is as follows -
6CO2 + 12 H2O -------> C6H12O6+ 6 H2O + 6 O2
In the photosynthesis the sunlight is absorbed by the plant to obtain the assimilatory power i.e. ATP and NADPH which reduces the carbondioxide into glucose.
The biomass is produced as a result of photosynthesis.
Hence the photosynthesis rate is directly proportional to crop productivity. The more the photosynthesis rate is the more is the crop productivity.
In the case of Transpiration which is the water loss from the stomata of leaves of plants , which plays important role in ascent of sap through xylem.
Here stomata is functioning as both cause for the transpiration and also carrying out photosynthesis. Stomata maintains the water loss with the photosynthesis rate.
However the excess of Transpiration causes wilting of plant so , transpiration rate is inversely proportional to the crop productivity because water level in the plants are essential to be maintained.
