Factors affect the performance of the enzyme -
1.Temperature - The enzyme reaction rate increases with the rise in temperature to a maximum level called as optimum temperture. Above the optimum temperature (above 40 degree C), enzymes get denatured and declines the activity of enzymatic reactions.
2.pH -The stabilization of the enzyme highly depends on the pH and the enzyme remains active at the optimum pH range. The lower than the optimum pH of higher than the optimum pH, causes complete loss of the enzyme activities.
3. Enzyme concentration- The increase in enzyme concentration accelerates the enzymatic reaction until the substrates are available to bind to. The enzymatic reactions rate declines ,once all the substrate binds to the enzymes. The excess enzymes remains free as there is no available substrate to bind with.
4.Substrate concentration - Upon the constant enzyme concentration, the increase in substrate concentration causes enzymatic reaction velocity to speed up untill it achieve the maximum velocity. At this point, all the available enzyme formed the complex with the substrate called ES complex (enzyme sunstrate complex). After this point, the velocity of the enzyme reaction doesn't increases further.
