Solution : a) rounding off method :

Advantage : Advantage of rounding off in solving integer programming is that it is very common place and popular and it is easier to find assistance than with the other methods.

Disadvantage : When using rounding off in solving integer programming sometimes the optimum design may not be compatible with rounded off designs and some may not be useful.

b) enumeration method :

Advantage : Advantage of using enumeration in solving integer programming is that in situations with small number of design variables, enumeration can provide more accurate solutions than rounding. Enumeration is also better for laminate design problems due to cost being lower and enumeration being more accurate.

Disadvantage : Enumeration method can be pricey.
