Users were assigned ID's by the company.   They had to consist of either: Any eight octal digits The digit 7 followed by eight octal digits The digit 7 followed by nine octal digits, or The digit 1 followed by nine decimal digits The octal digits are 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7.   The decimal digits are 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. With these rules, how many different Compuserve ID's were possible? Your answer may be given as an integer, or as a formula.  Either is acceptable.
