Hello,
My name is Cierra and I'm a bit nervous on where I need to start to complete my assignment.
I would appreciate some tips on what formula's to use and what direction I should take to answer a few questions.
I want to have a better understanding of what questions I am getting myself into.
Thank you.
Cryptography: What does this coded message say??
Matrix inverses can provide a simple and effective procedure for encoding and decoding messages.
40 58 37 51 11 11 43 58 28 33 30 45 24 25 52 72 37 51 5 5
[A] = encoder [B] = uncoded [C] = coded and [A][B] = [C]
Since the encoding matrix, A, is 2x2, create matrix C with two rows. Go down the columns, not across the rows. i.e.
e11 = 40 e21 = 58 e12 = 37 etc.
[A] = [1 2]
[1 3]
[C] = [ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ]
[ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ]
Now, solve for matrix B.
[B] = [ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ]
[ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ]
List the elements in the columns of matrix B in sequence.
__ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __
Assign the numbers 1-26 to the letters of the alphabet with A=1, B=2, C=3, etc and BLANK =0
