What is the minimum amount of cost for materials needed to cover a display box in a store window? The box’s dimensions are 14 feet long, 2 feet high and 3 feet from the window to the back of the box. The ends of the box cannot be seen from the window, but the front, back, and top are visible from the street and from inside the store. The manager wants you to use up some old materials ; the 2 feet wide strips are in rolls of 20 feet and cost $18.00 per roll; the 1 foot wide pieces are 10 feet long and cost $7.00 each but there are only two of them; the last bit of materials are 6 inch ribbons in rolls of 80 feet costing $10 each. Do not worry about seams or overlapping—you have plenty of free double-sided tape, thank goodness. How would you handle this project?
