Vertical assymptote means the point at which x--> a implies y--> infinity. Here we can see at x=1 and x= 3 the denominator becomes 0. So as x-->1 and x--> 3 we get y=f(x) --> infinity. Hence x= 1 and x=3 are the vertical assymptote.
