Homework Answers

Answer #1

1.

Agree - as stand-your-ground laws encourage the people to take the law in their own hands and misuse the level of freedom provided.

Disagree - because such laws discourage the crime by otherwise law-abiding citizen and thereby reduces the level of vigilantism and preemptive shooting.

2.

Agree - Because the intruder can cause harm of life or threaten to harm life of the person or his/her family. So, use of deadly force is necessary against intruder to get away with future loss of life and property.

Disagree - Because the life of intruder too is more valuable that the loss/damage of property under any given situation. Also, thaking a harsh action can prove to be costly.
