Some regions are less represented on the NYSE because the companies in these regions may not meet the listing requirements of NYSE . The NYSE has different listing and public shareholder standards and companies must abide by the requirements of NYSE . Companies that do not meet these standards are not listed on NYSE. Some of the listing requirement are mainly in

  • Shareholders equity
  • Market capitalization
  • Distribution
  • Price
  • Market value of public float

Also NYSE conducts a subjective review and looks at nature of company's business, financial integrity, company outlook, reputation of the management etc. Certain regions of the world fall short of these requirements and therefore are less represented on NYSE.
