i bought packaging boxes which i debited and i credit accounts payable. now i use some of those boxes so i credited them but what do i debit??
Packaging boxes (merchandise inventory ) is an asset and is debited at the time of purchase,when you use it , it is expensed hence we credit the packaging boxes with the used amount and we need to debit an expense account (example like cost of goods sold /supplies expense) which is shown as an expense in income statement.Hence you should debit an expense account by whatever name it goes by in your case (like cost of goods sold, packaging boxes expense a/c) |
