The Trend of Dividend payment can be determined on the basis of Dividend Payout ratio of any company/organization. Dividend payout ratio is measured in terms of  percentage, which is calculated by dividing Dividend paid per share by earning per share. If the Dividend payout ratio is increasing as compare to the previous years , we can conclude the there is upward trend . On the other hand, if dividend payout ratio is decreasing as compare to the previous years, the trend is downward trend.
