Based on the reading, do you think that the way we regulate trade secrets, copy rights, and patents is appropriate? How do trade secret, patent laws, copyright laws both stimulate and harm creativity, efficiency and expression in our society?

Trade Secrets, Copy Rights and Patents all are necessary to entail the benefit of these to the person or entity who has developed these, spent their time, cost and efforts are research & developement.

By Providing the protection of law from infringement of these, one is being motivated to do the research the benefit of which shall be reaped by developer with anybody with developers consent only.

In Case of Patent, different time period is provided in law for different product for which patented product could be used by patentee only after the expiration of that time period, others are free to use the patent. The time period allowed is providing benefit to patentee for their patent but with a limited period.

As far as harms are considered, nobody other than patentee can hold, use or modify the patented technology so as to develop something better out of that.
