The reasons for expatriate failure are many and some of the
common reasons for expatriate failure are:-
Not able to adapt to the culture of the foreign country where
the the individual is assigned.
Lack of support from the corporate office in the home
country.
Legal and trade restrictions in the foreign country that
inhibit working in the foreign country.
Lack of technical competence to work in the foreign country
which makes it difficult to cope with the standards required for an
international assignment.
Personal issues such as language barrier, food, spouse unable
to adjust also contribute equally to expatriate failure.
