There were several companies involved in the Deepwater Horizon rig and the Macondo well. Which company do you feel was primarily responsible for the disaster? Be specific.

I feel that was Transocean Ltd. was primarily responsible for the disaster.

Explanation- The rig owners, Transocean, was responsible for failing to adequately maintain the blowout preventer. According to BP's September 2010 report "The BOP (blowout preventer) maintenance records were not accurately reported in the maintenance management system. The condition of critical components in the yellow and blue pods and the use of a non-OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part, which were discovered after the pods were recovered, suggest the lack of a robust Transocean maintenance management system for Deepwater Horizon BOP."
