MR# is the number given to a materials requisition form which is a source document that the production department uses to request materials for manufacturing process. The production manager usually fills out the materials requisition form and delivers it to the materials or storage department where all of the raw materials are stored.

While, an Account# is the primary identifier for ownership of an account, whether a vendor account, a checking or brokerage account, or a loan account. An account number is used whether or not the identifier uses letters or numbers.

Threfore, these two numbers serve different purposes.
