Homework Answers

Answer #1
1 2010
FIFO inventory = LIFO inventory + LIFO reserve
= 1.2 + 0.6
1.8
2 2011
FIFO inventory = LIFO inventory + LIFO reserve
= 1.3 + 0.8
2.1
3 COGS (FIFO) = COGS (LIFO) - (LIFO reserve at the end - LIFO reserve at the beginning of period)
= 22.2 - (0.8 - 0.6)
22
4 Inventory turnover = Cost of goods sold / Average inventory
LIFO
= 22.2 / ((1.2+1.3) / 2)
17.76
5 Inventory turnover = Cost of goods sold / Average inventory
FIFO
= 22 / ((1.8+2.1) / 2)
11.45
